Shrew was formed in 2012 with the mission of promoting a better understanding of our natural world, through field trips, workshops, research and assisting landowners with stewardship of their properties. Our team has decades of combined experience in all aspects of natural history.
We offer courses and workshops that are geared to all levels of interest and experience as well as conduct biological assessments and inventories of both commercial and private properties.
Shrew is based at 240 Presqu’ile Parkway, an eight-acre property just outside the gate of Presqu’ile Provincial Park. The property, which includes wetland and upland field, was acquired for the sole purpose of protecting it from future development.
In accordance with provincial and national health guidelines, we have put on hold our public and private nature field trips. We will re-start them as soon as we are able. In the meantime, we would be happy to help make your property more wildlife-friendly by making recommendations on plantings and bird feeder set-ups. To learn what’s living on your land, we offer comprehensive biological inventories, too. Drop us a line to learn more!
