Morning Chorus Challenge!

Updated: May 25, 2020

On May 20th, 2010, I made this video recording in the hardwood forest of Presqu'ile Park. I was compelled to because of the impressive morning chorus of bird songs and calls.

There are 17 species vocalizing here. Give the clip a listen and try to identify them.

Hint: There are representatives from the flycatcher, vireo, crow/jay, chickadee, nuthatch, thrush, and warbler families.

Good luck!

Consider this a primer for our Bird Songs and Calls Workshops in spring 2021. We had intended to run these professional courses this year, but, needless to say, had to cancel due to COVID-19.

Stay tuned for updates about our 2021 program of field trips and workshops.

For now, be safe and enjoy the proliferation of bird song at this rich time of the year!
